Target Damn It!

It’s been quite awhile since I last posted.  Or so it feels.  I’m feeling totally random and neurotic (more than usual) today so you may or may not follow my brain stream here.

I realized 15 minutes ago that it’s been at least a *month* since I last visited Target.  Imagine the things I’m missing out on – The Back-To-School clearance sales, the new Halloween decorations to contemplate, paper products and chocolate.  The chocolate alone damn it!  OK…truth be told, it hasn’t been a month.  But it sure feels like it.  I have significantly cut back on my Target visits over the last year.  Sometimes I don’t make a visit for a whole week.  Can you understand the restraint this takes?  Sometimes it’s just nice to walk around and see what kind of cool stuff is on an end cap and not widely advertised (Orla Kiely’s service ware anyone?)  It’s calming.  Like a way to reground myself after a hectic day at the office or escape from my lovely extroverts.

It is incredibly stressful for me at work right now.  I’m overdue on some deliverables that should have been completed last week.  Granted, I don’t have all the answers and resources right now, but still, overdue tasks do not sit well with me.  Striving to get it all done by 5pm Friday so I don’t have to work the weekend and instead focus on things like gin and red wine and sleep.

Not necessarily all together or in that order.

And then!  My high school reunion.  I’m beating myself over the head for not checking first if the buddies I want to see are actually going.  Or that it would even happen since people aren’t sending in any money or RSVPs.  ‘Cause I bought this insane travel time plane ticket for Thanksgiving weekend at a premium.  That a week later was $90 less.  Damn you price predictor – I shake my fist at you!  So next is looking into pushing the ticket out and what fees that is going to incur.  Frick.  Frickety Frick Frick!!

Plus a bunch or other personal stuff, personal personal that I don’t want to go into here.  I’m not terminally ill is so breathe a sigh of relief there, thanks.

I think I’ll knock off a bit early today and go to Target.  I’ll start my shopping list now:

  • Chocolate
  • Check Halloween costumes, scope out ideas for A
  • Halloween Chocolate
  • Band Aids (both child and adult)
  • Cheap t-shirts?
  • Gift Wrap/Card for Baby Shower
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Funky cool thing I haven’t seen before
  • Pack of gum
  • uh…..other stuff

See you there.
